On or after November 24, 2023, Stamford Main Renewables will be filing a Vermont Public Utility Commission (VPUC) Certificate of Public Good (CPG) petition under 30 V.S.A. 246 to install a temporary meteorological station in Stamford, Vermont at geocoordinates N42 48' 42.8" and W73 01' 58.4" at approximately 2,245' elevation. The station is a galvanized metal tube measuring 10 inches in diameter at the base, tapering to 8 inches at the top which will be 199 feet tall. The temporary meteorological station will be in place for up to 3 years. The installation site will be accessed by way of the existing dirt trail off Collins Road. Less than 1 acre of vegetation will be cleared to allow installation of the station. Installation will be performed in accordance with the ANR Low Risk Site Handbook for Erosion Prevention and Sediment Control. No mapped natural resource features are located within 500 feet of the site. A stream and associated river corridor that run parallel to the dirt trail will be avoided during installation. VCDP Progress Report 2016 Organization: Town of Bennington PR-2016-9-Bennington-00078 Final Public Hearing VCDP Implementation Grant 2016 The Town of Bennington received $1,250,000 from the State of Vermont for a grant under the Vermont Community Development Program. A public hearing will be held at 130 River Street, Bennington, VT 05201 on 12/11/2023 at 6:00 PM to obtain the views of citizens on community development, to furnish information concerning the range of community development activities that have been undertaken under this program, and to give affected citizens the opportunity to examine a statement of the use of these funds. The VCDP Funds received have been used to accomplish the following activities: The Putnam Block Redevelopment Project, located at 101 and 109 South Street and 335 Main Street, Bennington included the acquisition and rehabilitation of three mixed-used historic commercial buildings. As a result of the project's activities, 35 new jobs were created, and Brownfield sites were remediated. The project is generally described as the construction of improvements of utility lines for distributing electricity along Moss Brook, Hapgood Pond, Savage, Mad Tom Notch, Catlin, Doc Furnum, and North Roads within existing rights-of-way and easement corridors in Peru, Vermont.
